i just bought and painted a coffee table. it has a raised edge so the plan is to put marbles on the surface, then place a peice of glass on top. Im not sure what to use to put on the table to make the marbles stick.. it needs to be clear and stick to glass and wood.

i was thinking polyurathane or hot glue.

  1. I saw this done recently, and after the marbles were in place they used tile grout to finish it.  Looked good.  And it would really "set" the marbles.

  2. use SILICON, it sticks to glass and wood and it's clear too!

you can get it at home depot or glass places and like at a lot of other places too. =)

-that is such a great idea for a table!

    Good luck with your project!

  3. Uhu glue would be best if you can get it.

  4. it might take a while but why not use a hot glue gun?

  5. Your local hobby shop may have something. There is a product used to simulate water in modeling railroads. This stuff is clear, unless you add food coloring to it for shading.

I assume you just want to adhere the marbles to the table, with the glass over the top. If so, follow the directions for making "water", pour this solution onto the table top and spread to make a thin covering. Add marbles and glass.

Be sure to invite friends to admire your handiwork

  6. I would experiment on something else before gluing to the table.  I did an awsome coffe table about 10 years ago with elmers glue and this really cool botanical print I cut from wrapping paper.  I still get lots of comments on it and we have used it, I mean really used it hard and it looks great.  Would love to see it when your'e finished.  Good luck.
