I'm renting an apartment with what appears to be an old...very old furnace. I've gone to the leasing office and nobody has come to look at it yet and it's been nearly 3 days without heat in my place. So here's the problem. I lit the burner as it must have been out the whole summer. I figured lighting the burner would give me heat but no luck. When looking at the furnance there's a chain pulley on the left with a low/high speed. When I pull the chain the motor/fan turns on but blows cold/cool air. No heat. I even jacked the thermostat up to 90 and still no heat. With the fan not running and the thermostat jacked there's still no heat. Nothing kicks on. My apartment is about 52 inside...very cold but wouldn't be so bad if it were 117 outside but that's not the case. Any suggestions?
