  1. Is 6th grade middle school where you are? Here in FL it is, 6,7 and 8th graders.

My kid started 6th this past monday and loves it! Due to Tropical storm Fay classes were canceled all but 2 days.

She says everyone is cool and that they give you time to find classes and all the new locations so you're not in trouble.

    Enjoy it.

  2. I was nervous too, who wouldnt be.

It's really cool though, more opportunities, more people but sadly

more homework, more teachers, more drama and you have to get

up earlier. You'll be fine if you bring all your things and listen to

the teacher, first day your required to go to home room, i think thats

how it works for all schools. They explain everything about

middle school then you go eat lunch, come back and go to all

your periods and hear what each class is about from each teacher.

Dont worry, be social and you will make a lot of friends. I had to

go on my first day after moving so i didnt know anybody at all. And

it honestly wasnt that bad, just remember everyone is nervous

like you, so your not alone.

  3. 6th grade is great!!!

you have slightly more homework, but you can do school sports and all sorts of fun stuff

People also start dating in 6th grade soo... yeah

you'll love it, i loved it

  4. 6th Grade is not as bad as it seems. I'm just starting 7th Grade and I wish I was still in 6th! It gave me a chance not to be the one that doesn't know her way around the school or doesn't have any friends because no one knows their way around the school, and the kids are going to be coming from all different schools. Usually the school has a 'Meet The Teacher' day before the first day or school so you can meet your teachers and get to know your way around the school. I hope this helps you,

    Good Luck!

  5. Haha wow.  6th graders on yahoo.

Trust me, you'll be fine.  I remember what that was like and I understand your nervous but there's nothing to worry about.  The teachers will tell you where things are and what the rules are.  And you'll make new friends and see old friends.  Good luck!  You'll be fine. :)

  6. It's really almost exactly like 5th grade.  Don't get nervous.  Look around for people you know and make some new friends.  Stay motivated and keep up with your work.  You'll be fine.  Good luck!

  7. Sixth grade was my favorite grade. It's still fun and exciting. Teachers are interesting without loading you down with homework and most of the assignments leave LOTS of room for creativity.

6th graders are also a good age. Old enough to have a good sense of humor and make good friends, but young enough to be immune to the worries of "popularity" and other c**p that plagues highschoolers.

Look forward to having a GREAT year. :)

  8. Ah, sixth grade was one of my favorite school years. Although it was long ago, I only have fond memories of it.

However, that's when I first started making B's on my report card, and as far as grades go, it was all downhill from there. As far as fun goes, it gets more fun each grade you progress.

Sixth grade is also your last year of boyhood innocence. Reap the benefits while you can.

  9. d**n this was a long time ago for me im 22.

However this is your last year of innocence as from now on its important to get a good education.

  10. ok, so at my school, the first thing you do is go to homeroom. it's extended so your teacher can explain things to you. you are actually taught how to open your lock, what books you should take to what classes...

then, you go to the rest of your classes. i got sooo lost in between some of mine but i asked kids older than me to help me. seriously, they weren't mean. it made them feel really smart to help me. lol. sixth grade teachers are really there to help you get used to the school, so don't worry about it. within the week you'll know the school like the back of your hand and wonder what you were worrying about :) best of luck!

    oh and have fun!
