  1. Good Luck. Do not try to rush it. Keep going at your own pace and bring a change of clothes.

  2. All you will really need will be running clothes (shorts and a shirt) and running shoes. Don't worry about a change of clothes; you won't be the only sweaty person out there, but you certainly can if you want to. Bring a water bottle with you to stay hydrated before the race, but don't drink too much. They usually have water for all of the runners at the end of the race. Usually ipods are not allowed in the race but do bring it so you can listen to it before the race and get some adrenaline going. Don't forget to pace yourself! good luck!

  3. if its ur first race just take it easy dont start off really hard cause youll die. buy if your an expierenced runner and its ur first 5k do what u always do when u pace urself and drink plenty of water throught the day.

  4. you dont need to carb load, you shouldnt need to drink water during( or too much before)

if you do need water, DONT SWALLOW just wet your mouth

  5. Definately bring water. A towel is usually helpful, especially if it's hot out...if the race lets you run with music, do it. Good luck!

  6. A 5K race (3.1 miles) is short enough that you should not need to replace fluids during the race.  Bring a clean t-shirt to change into after the race.  If it's your first race, just look to finish it.  Don't start with the 5 minute milers.
