  1. He will ask you lots of questions to make sure that you are really depressed and not just sad. Don't be nervous, just be honest. He wont tell anyone what you tell him or he could be sued by you. If he is a real doctor, he will prescribe you medication. If he is only a psychologist, he may refer you to a psychiatrist to get medication. Or he may recommend therapy only. Good Luck!

  2. talking to the doctor may be hard but it is the best thing you can do for your self. He will likley ask you a few questions to determine how serious your depression is and what he/she can do to help. They will probably perscribe anti-depressants and maybe even counselling. I highly suggest you follow whatever treatment your doctor perscribes as they do really know best and only want to help you. Dont feel like an idiot for telling him how you feel, you should be proud of yourself that you are doing a good thing and you will start to feel much better soon. Good luck

  3. the doctor will properly ask you how you feel and how you think this is.

If he thinks its best for you he will properly refer you to see a shrink and it will go on for there, but waiting to see a shrink takes quiet a while.

Just be honest don't be scared.

  5. Aww it's okay. The doctor just wants to help you. Everything you tell him will be confidential. If it makes you feel better, ask him if he will tell anyone. It is his job to be honest. Whatever he prescribes will help you in the best way possible. It's all gonna be fine! :) Just be open and honest about how you feel.

  6. tell him how you feel be honest.

  7. I suggest a therapist, not your family doctor.

GP's tend to say "Oh, you're depressed? OCD? Have anxiety? I've got a miracle pill for all those things!"

Whereas a therapist will find out what the root of the problem is, and help you try to solve it. They may also suggest drugs, but getting to the bottom of your problem will help more than anything.

  8. Oh, honey, he/she only wants to help.  NO they will NOT tell anyone what you have told them.  That is against the law.  They will not judge you, trust me, they want to know everything so that they can help you be happy one day.  You are NOT and idiot.  You are suffering, sweetheart.  I hope he does refer you to a good therapist.  Don't let him give you medication just yet.  It will only mask the problem, not work towards solving it.  I get tired of doctor's giving pills instead of real help.  If you go to a therapist and work out your problems you could really be happy one day.  Do not feel shamed, scared or lonely.  A lot of people suffer from depression.  Your problems matter and it is important that you get help for them.  I'm so happy that you are going to take that step tomorrow.  A few years or maybe even months down the road you will look back and be proud that you took that first step  towards the life you deserve, a life without crippling depression.  Good luck, doll!!

  9. I don't know anything about what the doctor will ask, perscribe, or recommend... But I suggest finding out WHY you're depressed. Friends, school, family, home-life, hobbies, peer pressure, or lack of any of the above..? Pills and tablets only attack the symptom, but do nothing about the cause of the problem.

    Good luck.
