  1. Get drunk helps me

  2. chew gum, or just keep popping your ears. and there's nothing to worry about... there are way more car crashes than there are plane crashes a year..... i've been flying/flying in a single engine for just about a year now... and i've gotton over that little fear i had the 3rd or 4th time i went up...... trust me, you'll be fine. Those airline pilots have to go through a lot of training to get their ATP (airline transport pilot rating).

  3. To that Piper user : You have 7 times more chance to die in a General Aviation plane (small planes) than in a car accident.

But for commercial use, don't you worry about a thing, just make sure you have no cold, then your ears will be fine if you chew gums or yawn when going down, going up is no problem since the pressurisation will keep your ears ok

  4. Chew gum when taking off and landing. That should help your ears to not pop.

as for the fear of flying, thats something you need to overcome yourself. You need to remind yourself that thousands of planes take off every day, every hour, every minute... and out of those hundreds of thousands of flights only a dozen or so actually crash.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than to be involved in a plane crash.

    deep breaths it'll be alright.

  5. Chew gum because the opening and closing of the mouth opens up the eustachion tubes in your ears making it easier for your ears to pressurize.

As for the fear of flying, (I'm sure you've heard this thousands of times), it's safer than driving. Nothing will happen. There's a very slim chance. How many times do you hear of an airliner in the US crashing? Rarley. The wings will NOT fall off. Things like that just don't happen. Also, if the engines quit it will just glide. The chances of both engines quitting is practically zero. There's nothing to worry about. I get in a small Cessna 152 almost every week and nothing has never happened to me. No worries. Everything will be alright.

  6. I get asked this question on a fairly regular basis. What I always tell people is I have a family that I WILL be going home to. I will do whatever it takes to make that happen. So if you are on my plane there is nothing to worry about. If you are nervous go say hello to the pilots. That seems to make people feel a lot better about getting on. As long as you don't have a sinus problem there is nothing to worry about with the ears. Worst that would happen is a little discomfort.

    good luck and happy flying!

  7. u could drive or take a train instead

  8. you shouldnt be scared about flying i am sure that the airline hostesses will help you overcome these fears and make your flight as comftable as they can

  9. commercial never crashes

and yawn it will equalize you ears when landing

  10. There is no reason to be afraid when flying. I was a flight attendant to a major airline and I can assure you the people flying you to Florida are well trained and in the rare event the something would go wrong they know how to handle the problem.

I have flown hundereds of times and never had a thing go wrong.

Second your flight attendant(s) are trained to know exactly what to do in an emergeny. Read the safety guide in the seat pocket when you sit down in the plane and let the flight attendant know about your jitters.

Drink water during your flight that will help with the pressure in your ears and now you can buy a device called an ear plane (found at wal-mart or at a shop at the airport). They go in your ear and have balls inside them that move up and down to adjust to the pressure in the plane. It you feels pressure building close your mouth, hold your nose, and blow this will pop your ears.

If you get air sick open you air vent, close your window shade, and lean back.

You will be fine. . . good luck on your trip Florida is beauitful this time of year.

  11. dont pressure ur mind.just relax before flying and have a light meal.dont get excited when ur in the aircraft.try listening to some music whlie ur flying.Infact its just nothing now a days
