Im scared to get a mac???!!!?

Question

Okay so Im pretty sure im getting this Mac computer but im scared. I have had windows all my life but i already know how to work a mac cause thats what we have at school. My questions are Can I hook up my router and everything like that for my internet just like on a PC??

Where can I buy like word and stuff like that?? Is mac better than a PC?

Ok Mac is better in SOME aspects, *I have both* It can't get viruses, There are less pop ups. However, you can't get games on mac, :( you can't really make videos, some websites don't work because mac doesn't have the right video player, so really it depends on what you want. Mac lasts longer, PC has more options.

*Mac hooks up only to Apple things..... Well as far as I can tell*

some will say mac is better but cost vs availability  its 25% more costly for programs for macs PCs are easier to maintain and yes usually you can kook any router to a mac or pc it will say if its compatible on the side of the router box or go to the manufacture web site first i work on computers all the time i will tell you stick it out with pc just stay away from vista (yuck

Macs suck.  Why can't you get a real computer, like a Lenovo (Windows) instead?  But yes, Mac uses the same routers as PCs, they're just wayy less useful.

here is another view although macs can be more powerful. you have many compatibility issues and far less software to work with. when i worked at frys mac software and games had one isles where as pc games and software took up a combined 8 isles. being a gamer pc has many more selection of games.

Please ignore mdigital. I have both a mac and a PC and macs are definitely better. Your router will work just fine as all routers work on both PC's and Macs. For word, you need to buy office 2008. It can be purchased from http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/Wo...

Macs work with all common routers. And if your school uses macs then even better. Microsoft Word for Mac can be found at http://store.apple.com. I've seen it coming around at Circuit City or Staples.

And there's a lot of cool stuff that comes with Macs that make the experience better.

DONT GET A MAC!! mostly nothing is compatible with macs and if a mac needs repairing its hard to find a shop just to repair it and if u do, it will cost $alot$. PC are 10x better

You'll be fine with a Mac.  I have 3 Windows computers and 1 Mac.  You can even run Windows on the Mac nowadays, if you want.  Most of your hardware - printers, routers, usb hubs, etc. - will work with the Mac, no problem.... maybe better :)

Yes; do not use mac's! Just run whenever you hear that of that horrible OS. Trust me just stick with Windows.
