I am so sick of my job.

I am inside all day.

Im 20 and I want to have a job outside.

There are so many marinas around where I live, and I'm right by the beach.

What can I do.

I want to work on a boat.

How should I go about that.

What are they looking for.

Anyone?

Any outdoor job ideas and how I can find them?

Thank you.

  1. go down to the marina and ask around,

  2. I can't agree with the post that said the coast guard is less dangerous, but anyway that is another discussion. My advice is much the same as the others but having worked as a marine mechanic and served 14 years in the military I can say this.

If you have a real desire go down to the Navy recruiters office and tell them what your wanting to do.Of course the coast guard and even the army have marine mechanic positions ,there called engineers on boats,so any of those three are your best bet since you get payed while training and build a heck of a resume.

The other option would be MMI (marine mechanics institute) the have a very good program but take my advice get into the diesel side of things theres more money and better career options for you.I hope this helps you and I suggest strongly to go into the military for training for the best training and pay and honor.

  3. If you just want to work on a boat

Join the Navy or the Coast Guard

I recommend the Coast Guard, I's less dangerous and more exciting

  4. It really depends on what you want to do on a boat.  Go ask around.  Do you have any skills that would help you get a job.  The best place to start is cleaning and detailing boats.  Anyone can do that.  Go commerical fishing as a deckhand.  The best way to go about it is to ask around.  Good luck

  5. You've already got 2 things they will be looking for;

    1. You're young.

    2. You love being outside.

Go gett'em......just go to the marina and ask around.

Look for someone who's sun burnt and worn out, they should be able to tell you more.

    Good luck!!
