  1. The FICA tax is about  $65 for $850

The other tax probably being withheld is federal withholding, That would depend on your W-4 you filled out when you joined your company; married or single, and amount of exemptions.  You can check the table out with Pub 15/ Circ E; http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15.pdf

Texas, lucky you, has no state income tax.

  2. TX takes nothing from your pay as TX does not have an income tax.

Go here for some handy tools:  http://www.paycheckcity.com

Generally you should claim 1 or 2 withholding allowances on your Form W-4.  If you claim 1 you will get a modest refund at the end of the year.  If you claim 2 you will be within $100 of even money either way at filing time but you'll receive the most money possible every payday.

  3. On 19,700 per year gross you'd pay around $1225 in federal income tax, and $1477.50 for social security and medicare, for a total of around $2700.  Sounds like maybe you have your W-4 filed at zero allowances.  You could make that one, or even two if you only have one job.  With 2, it's possible you'd owe a little when you file, or might get a small refund.

Without knowing how often you get paid and more exact payroll numbers, not possible to give exact answers.
