  1. If your numbers are too high or your OB thinks you may be carrying multiples they will have you go in for an ultrasound b/c that makes you high risk and they will see you more often in that case. I should also tell you though I think that number may be wrong b/c I was 16 weeks and only in the 5k's with a healthy pregnancy, even if I had been carrying twins that is no where near the number you were given. First call for clarification if they give you the same number ask to be seen by the doc for an explanation and to schedule an ultrasound.

  2. i'd say the easiest thing to do and the most accurate thing would be to call or get in contact with your doc that way you'll know for sure. Congrats!

  3. here is a site i found for you it gives you a chart for one pregnancy or multiples good luck

  4. HCG quant is not the be all end all.

My levels were so low, they thought I was miscarrying, but the baby was fine.

It is possible that you're carrying more than one baby; levels are higher with twins.  But it's also possible that you're just on the high end of things.  Check out American Pregnancy.  You're right in the allowable range for single baby hormone levels.

HCG is so variable, it only makes sense when taken over time intervals... if your levels are going up, that's a good thing.  They start to go down around 12 weeks though when the placenta starts kicking in.

Good luck, I'm sure everything is fine.

  5. Actually, that sounds normal. Here is a guideline for HCG levels during pregnancy:

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

    3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml

    4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml

    5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

    6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml

    7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

    9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml

    13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

    17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml

    25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

    Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml

    Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

Also, your HCG levels peak usually between 10-12 weeks, and then they will actually decrease and level off.

  6. well you could also be further along than you think...your doctor should beable to tell if you can get in for an ultra sound and quick, while the baby/babies are still small!
