My birthday is on Feb 16. Im 17 right now and i have no driving experience. Can I take the written test now without taking a class or do I wait til im 18 for that? Do I have to take a driving class at all or can I do this all on my own and just take the test at the end?

  1. written test? here in nyc u read the book and study from it

  2. hey dont stress,i also started driving late and im sure there are others out there as well, anyway i suggest that you study for the learners permit and once you have got your learners then go for a few driving lessons with a driving school untill you feel comfortable and confident enough to go for your driving test.good luck

  3. Wait till you are 18 and do everything on your own.

  4. in florida there is a physical drivers test which lasted around 5 min or so maybe a bit longer, and a test on the computer which asked questions from the drivers book.  im sure its different in different states.... no driving experience if i were you i would go with your mom or dad or someone you trust and go to a secluded parking lot or one that wont be busy and just practice! thats what i did, its a great help

  5. You are about to experience the most dangerous thing you can do in your life - operate a motor vehicle...You'll want all the instruction and information you can get about what it takes to drive a vehicle...There is a little pamphlet in your state that will tell you everything you need to know to pass the written part of the license test or you can read it online in most states...It is strongly recommended that you take a formal behind-the-wheel driving course before taking the road test.

If you are not 18, you usually need a parent or guardian's approval plus you may need a certificate from your school...If you are 18, you don't need any of these things...Check the state driver's handbook.
