ok basically now I'm more confused than before. 3 months ago i started birth control pills. i wasn't having a period at all for about a year and before that it was very irregular. i had an ultrasound and blood work and the doctor said everything looked fine. i let her know i would be ttc soon but she advised i be on ortho for 3 months before trying clomid. my 3 months are officially up and now I'm just waiting for my period (during the 3 months on ortho i had a regular period) i have an appointment today and I'm going to ask for the clomid so that hopefully i get my period in a few days and i can start the clomid. right? i believe clomid is taken during my period? I'm confused because i don't know if I'm doing everything right. r these the steps to take while ttc. i really really want a baby and my biggest fear is that the clomid wont be helpful in achieving that. any advice?

  1. I had very irregular periods without the bc pill as well.  I tried without help for 2 years to conceive with no luck.  After running dye through my tubes to check for blockages, it was determined that I wasn't ovulating.  It's been 16 years since I took clomid, so I don't remember when during my cycle that I took it, but I know I took one per day for five days.  Well, that's all it took for me...I was pregnant with that one try.  My other 2 children were conceived without the use of anything...I wasn't actually trying to prevent it, but they were surprises.  Best of luck to you!
