Im sooooooo confused?

So my mom mentioned the other day that she would be happy if I moved out, lived on my own, and learned to be completely independent now that Im starting college. But, 2 years ago my sister moved out when she started college and my parents complained about it saying she should have stayed, its to hard to live on your own and how tough the real world is. They were highly disappointed that she made the decision to move out, They were so perturbed by it that they even said they werent going to help her with her college tuition.

So if I move out, wouldnt they just end up getting upset about it?

I don't know your mom but i'm a mom myself.i'm sure you probably took it the wrong way. she probably meant to say that she hopes you learn to become independent.no mother ever really wants to see their children move out. but... you have to decide is moving out what you really want now.good luck

Remind your mom of the situation with your sister, and see what she says.  Let her know you don't want any conflicts.

Talk to them before you make a decision. If they're ok with it, move out. If not, either don't or save up a lot of money and move out. Your parents probably weren't ready for your sister to move out, but things are different for different people.
