  2. lots of illegal guns, and a good name, like alotapusses

  3. First off, find out if your neighborhood needs a gang. If there is a lot of uncontrollable crime, rampant illegal activity, low-income what-have-you and the like, then you're in the right place for a gang.

The reason for this is that gangs need to offer security to people, both those within the gang, and potential for protection of those outside, in the community. So what you need are a group of people who live in the same neighborhood as you (all gangs start at home), and share that goal.

Once you've found your fellow gang members, it's time for you to come up with a mission statement. This doesn't have to be anything too formal, but it should be clear and concise. What is it that you want to accomplish? Do you want to decrease random acts of violence and crime in the neighborhood? Do you want to run a prostitution ring, and offer protection to local hookers in exchange for profit?

Figure this out, but keep it to the point, and realistic. That is, keep it local, and don't go about setting lofty goals, such as running an entire city, which you can't possibly hope to reach upon just starting out. Also, be practical. If you don't have any connections to drug dealers or traffickers, would you want to try to create a drug monopoly? I don't think so.

Once you've got your mission statement, it's time for you and the co-founders to start recruiting members. You don't need that many to start out, just a handful, really. Stick with people you know, trust, and believe can handle the sort of work you plan to do. It's okay if they're local, or even if they all live on the same block. As I said before, getting the wheels in motion is your primary goal here, and you can worry about expanding later, once you've established yourselves.

Also, there are certain people you're going to need. Someone with connections to weapons, preferrably stolen weapons, is probably a good idea, although what sort of weapons you use (guns, knives, etc.) or whether or not you even want to carry weapons is up to you. Again, you know what your goal is as a gang, so you should find people who are experienced in this area, and have connections in this area.

After you've got a nice small group of primary recruits, you need to form a gang Charter. Unlike the mission statement, this has to be clear, and should be written down. This is the sort of thing that will set out the specifics, and when writing it you should go the whole nine yards. This inclused leadership (who's in charge, how many are in charge, and how a replacement is determined), decision making (voting or not, chain of command, etc.), how new members are inducted (initiation procedures), establishing a meeting place, identifying your signs, insignias, and symbols (clothing, hand signs, tattoos, etc.), and other rules of conduct. This can include a whole host of other things, and will probably expand once the gang grows and expands. What's important is laying a clear, fairly detailed foundation. After that, things will go in whatever direction they're taken.

And there you have it, that's how you start your own gang. Of course, keeping it together, and making it strong are other issues, but if you use your head, keep cool, and don't get too far ahead of yourself, then you're well on your way to success.

Oh, and you need two hands to make a capital "N," which you do by pointing the index finger on your left hand up (with the back of your hand facing you), with your thumb at a 45 degree angle to the right, then pointing the index finger on your right hand down (palm facing you), with your thumb at a 45 degree angle to the left. Then let your thumbs meet, and you have what would look like a backwards capital N to you, and a forwards capital "N" to a viewer.

If this doesn't work for you, you can borrow the lowecase "n" with one hand from American Sign Language, which you do by placing your thumb between your middle finger and your ring finger, then holding your fingers down. It would look like a fist, only with your thumb sticking up between those two fingers.

Anyway, that pretty much sums up the answer to your question. I hope I was able to help.
