Question:

Im starting to show signs of ocd...?

and its not only annoying me ...but it annoys everyone i know. in the back of my mind i know things are done but i still worry and check again. i know ppl said things but i have to re check with them to make sure. i know ive done things but i gotta go back and look again and make sure. its getting super old. thank God i dont ritualize yet but its still cramping my life. is it hereditary or learned? i ask b/c my mom used to make me check things over and over for her wen i was younger just to make sure shes gotten better about it...but now im pretty bad. is there anyway without meds or seeing a doctor i can help this or possibly reverse it? help!

  1. uhh my brother has been doing that for years but he hasn't gone and seen a doctor or anything.

    its normal to have a bit of ocd but when it becomes so bad that you have to clean your doorknob with a "special cloth" before you open it, then you should probably see a doctor.


  2. i know what you mean.. im like that too.. i cant stand it.. but i have a weird thing with numbers .... like no matter what i am doing it has to correspond to the perfect number.. and if it doesnt i get really scared that something bad is gonna happen like my family is gonna die or something.. i know it sounds crazy lol but it wont stop.... im not sure how you got yours but i think i got mine from doing ecstasy... i dont do it anymore but a couple of years ago i was doing it and ive been like this ever since even tho i stopped

  4. Well for one thing, you can't reverse it if you do have OCD. You could try not doing the little habits, and if you feel yourself getting extremely anxious because of this, I suggest you see a physician.

  5. Just calm down mate, you don't need meds and stuff like that. Just chill out.

    So what if you haven't checked something or re-checked it, its not the end of the world.

    You gotta think "nope i wont re-check that" Its all mind over matter.

  6. yes seeing a doctor is important,please seak help now before it gets worse!Ocd can be a learned behavuor but your more likely ot get it if you have a suseptability to it in your genetics,if you are abel to stop it by your self do but if not you must seak help.

  7. Besides medicine that are really effective. Behavioral therapy from a psychologist can be helpful.

  9. You need to see a doctor.  What if I gave you advice and it was wrong?

    I repeatedly wash my hands of the whole thing.

I would recommend talking with your doctor I had ocd for about a year and battled it with no doctors or medications or treatment so it can be done... treatment helps a lot ive heard and speeds up the process. it actually made me stronger too. this kind you have isent that bad either its not hard to stop once it gets into a ritual thats whats hard to stop see if you can talk to a doctor asap!
