Im still bleeding after stitches is this normal?

i got bit by a dog and my hand got ripped and it was very deep i had 3 stitchs and was given sum tablets and they put this big plaster on it and gave me 2 more to change it with over the next 7 days but by the time i got home the plaster was full of blood so i changed it its been a hour and this one has blood all on it but not as much as the first one

so my question is is this normal to hav this much blood and should i keep changing the dressing ? thank you

i got bit by a dog also and was left with a 2ins hole in my leg and the hospital would not stitch incase of infection,the bleeding if it is pure blood i would go back, if it is a yellowy type i would keep changing the dressing as this is the wound cleaning itself out and if after a few days it hasnt stopped i would go back

This isn't normal and I would go back to the Dr. One of the stitches could have ripped open. Did you try pressure on the wound?

Hey There,

Oh my, sorry to hear you got bit. That does not sound too normal to me. I got bit in the arm by a horse and had stitches, it bled a little little bit but not much at all. I just had to keep it really clean.

I got kicked in the head by a horse.. Got stitches in my ear. That did not bleed like that either. Yeah why do I love horses right? Who knows I guess I just do.

My point is that is worrying me that you are bleeding so much. Please call your doctor ASAP!
