  1. Are you g*y? :/

  2. Hmm, just watch me and do what I do (yes, I'm male).  Do you want to be a performer or just dress and behave masculine?

Assuming you are just starting out, I would buy bras that are a size or two too small.  This will depend on your current size and discomfort level with them.  Alternately, you could follow the taping procedure another user recommended, perhaps using a wide Ace bandage (but not so tight as to be painful).  An undershirt or T-shirt may help suppress curves and give a flatter appearance under a regular button-down shirt.

I would think that a skin-tight shirt would enhance, rather than hide, your curves (before you get the binder he mentioned).  I was going to suggest looser because that's what I wear, but hmm I'm not really the expert.  Loose-fitting or baggier pants.  Boxers or briefs, your choice.  For dress clothes, you will quickly discover that the entire range of colors that guys have available to them are black, blue, white, gray and brown.  That applies to belts and shoes (suits also come in blue).  I'd start with a basic blue suit and black belt, shoes and socks.  The first surprise you may discover is that men's pants almost NEVER include a belt.  Any department store that sells suits should have someone available to measure your shoulders, arms and neck (for fitted shirts and jackets).  Be careful with the pants; if they're too tight, they might enhance your buttocks and give too much of a feminine look.

Shirts and neckties come in a wide variety of colors and styles, and many places even sell them together as matched sets (because a lot of men can't match things very well).  I'd avoid the brighter colors and start with a basic white or light blue shirt and a diagonal striped necktie (standard men's fare).  You can add bolder or flashier colors later, but a lot of men stick to the conservative side, especially in business attire.

For casual wear, try baggy jeans, loose T-shirts (polos might work too), sneakers and white athletic socks.  That pretty much describes my whole wardrobe lol.

Hair depends entirely on how you want to play it.  Some guys have longer hair, but many keep it above the ear and above the collar.  You could go for a crew cut or even bald (but that might be overdoing it).  Perhaps browse men's fashion mags and find a cut you think will work for you.

No jewelry (a masculine wristwatch is okay) or feminine cosmetics, though you might want to thicken your eyebrows a bit with a pencil.  Stop shaving your legs and armpits.  Lose the purse and get a wallet for your back pocket.  Keep your keys in your front pocket.  Walk with a purpose and lengthen your stride a bit, keeping a wider stance to make room for those testicles.  Look at my avatar to see how men stand with their feet apart.  Don't cross your legs when sitting (though you can prop one ankle on the opposite knee).  Keep your fingernails cut short.  Drink straight from the bottle rather than using a glass.  Cuss a lot and tell dirty jokes lol I don't know what else.

  3. ur a dude, who's gonna dress up like a dude?

    and u need tips?

    u need help!

  4. I would definitely suggest trying to find a drag show in your area, talk to some of the gals/bois/kings/dykes/etc and see if you can get any tips. Also, if you are seriously considering transitioning there's always support groups where you can talk to other people that are in the same situation. Sorry I can't give you many tips on dressing and what not. hope this helps .

  5. are you a girl trying to look like a guy? or a guy trying to look like a girl?

in either case, either cut your hair or get extensions. wear lots of makeup, or wear none at all. take estrogen if you want to look like a girl.

and ultimately, dress in clothes made for the opposite s*x.

  6. im thinking that you are a girl who wants to dress like a boy right..isnt that what a drag KING is?

hehe hey thats what i do! and i rock it!

anyway get soem nice baggy pants, a jacket maybe, short hair is best, that or messy long hair, anyway walk with confidence, and spread your legs a little when walking...it was hard to at first btu i totally got used to it and ive forgotten how to walk girly

  7. yea its drag queen...

do your basic research before making a semi-major life decision like dressing up like a woman.

  8. Am I the only one that thought it was called drag QUEEN?

    *LOL*

  9. If you are at least 18, then this is going to be much easier, if not, I suggest not getting too invested financially until you are near 18.

18-20yr olds have a semi-harder time to get into preforming because of the bars & troupes ages.

If you are 18+ I recommend going to underworks.com and getting a binder, depending on your chest size and body frame is the determining factor (smaller chests and frames can pull of the 998 triple compression half/ 3/4 length binders) however if you are larger chested, I recommend the 997. Always buy a size smaller then the size skin tight shirt you would wear (ie. if medium shirts are skin tight, buy a small).  If you are skinnier, and plan on doing a lot of open shirt or half open shirt, or vest wearing then go for taping. Use sports tape (found in the first aid dept of your local drug store) and use "nipple shields" (the little cotton circle things you see used for removing nail polish and make up) because nipples are very sensitive when pulling off the tape.

    This will take 2 people....

Start off by placing the "shields" over your nipples, and then take the sports tape from the center of your chest where you breast and normal chest area meet and pulling your breast down and to the side, more so to the side. And have the other person pull the tape tightly across your breast, under the armpit area, and to the center of your back. Do that with the sports tape til most your breast is covered with the exception of the very top. To avoid "elephant ears" go the center nipple area, then right above it, right below it, and then at the top, then down, and do the same to the other side. Then not the dollar store tape, but actual duct tape, clear or silver or black is up to you, (suggest black if in dark colored outfits (like leather vests) or w/o anything but that or clear if doing open shirt). And that one you want to do top to bottom, from the center of your chest back even tighter. Don't expect to move until your out of the tape, and don't think you can dance around like mad h**l, cause well, sweat and tape don't get along!

Facial hair, is pretty easy....you get your hair cut, ask them to put the hair in a bag or a small plastic container. (nevermind the weird looks the stylist and everyone else may give you if they hear this) It's halloween time, great time for you to start....go to the party/halloween store, and ask for spirit gum. They'll know what your talking about. It comes in a lil nail polish sized bottle, usually a light pee colored yellow. And this is the fun part if you are butch....go to anywhere that sells make up, and pick up a eyebrow pencil, make sure it is slightly lighter then your hair color and sharpener (sharpeners are always a plus cause a dull eyebrow pencil gets you no where). And this is the fun part, take the eyebrow pencil and draw the lines where you want your facial hair. Once finished, make sure your hair is finely cut (beard trimmers can do this well) and then apply the spirit gum, one area at a time, and then take a pinch of your hair and not holding it tightly glide your fingers down that area of spirit gum, in which will pick up and "steal" the hair from your fingers and once doing that 3-4times, you should have a decent amount of hair on that area, so gently dab the hair down, and proceed to the next area. You need to wait til the spirit gum dries in the area, in order to add more to it. (ie. say you miss a spot, or the lines not as str8 as you thought it would be).

Keep in mind outfit wise....you don't want to trip on yourself on stage! And it's better to be your own personality then try to be the artist's personality. And GLITTER IS GOOD!!!! SHINY ROCKS!!! You are at a bar, it wasn't the color on the walls that got people to come in, it was the music and atmosphere. Choose your song based on the bar/club. I'm not going to go to a country bar and do eminem, because they won't like it, and you may have lost a chance at getting in part of a troope, or getting a show there in the future.

One thing I also know, you got to know how to entertain and always know how to improv. Why? cause things change constantly...that is the only constant...change! At the last minute, your song may not work, or you may get there and someone has already turned in there CD and is doing the song you've been practicing all week...so go with another...and always have back up, if you're going to a bar, have 2 outfits with you, and have your "bag" or "box" even if you're not preforming, cause at the last minute, they may want you on stage!
