  1. It all depends on what you want to do! Do your research. Don't just join because of uniforms or commercials.

Here is a link to all the branches in the U.S. Army + a video of my branch.

    -Army Officer and Pilot

    FLY ARMY!

  2. Definitely get a degree first, it will mean a better rank/pay when you do decide to join.

My husband was Navy and he says that he wished he would have joined the Air Force because they concentrate more on education then the other branches. Plus if you get stuck on a carrier it sucks....think of it like blending into the crowd.

  3. Jean,

Both the Air Force and the Navy are highly selective in who they bring in as an officer. There are tests you'll take, and depending upon the job you get you will have to be professionally qualified.

If you're fairly certain you want to do this, sign up for ROTC at the college you go to - or go to a college that has ROTC. This way you'll have military officer instructors advising you on your course of study, and, you'll be guaranteed a commission upon graduation.

Very few people are actually taken in through OCS - and they usually get crummy jobs.

    Good luck to you.

  4. Get education firs. that will make you more valuable for army because they would have to pay up the money. makes you less disposable. Go with air force. more fun then Army

  5. You should consider ROTC. You get commissioned as an officer and when your in college you can get a scholarship.!

  6. Air Force is better :D

Well it all depends on the job you want.

Each service specializes in something different, and has different jobs.

It would be good to do ROTC as the Naval Officer above me said, instead of doing OTS or OCS. (Officer Training School - Air Force, Officer Canidate School - Army, Navy, Marines)

I think we could be better help if we knew what you were planning on doing.

Here are the ROTC detatchmentt locators so you know if the college you want to go to has ROTC.

    http://www.afrotc.com/colleges/detLocato... - AFROTC

    https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/NRD_locator.c... - NROTC

The navy one actually lets you locate people you can talk to about the program. Can't find the detachment locator. Sorry.
