  1. I don't suggest you do it if you have no prior experience on a dirtbike or any other kind of motorcycle.  It takes a lot of practice and experience to be safe on a motorcycle.  You will most likely not like the feeling of being on a motorcycle, unprotected, with cars wizzing by.  Don't even buy it if you have no clue how to use it, or if you even don't know the name of it.  Get a real car.  Buying it now would just be a waste of money.

  2. As previously stated, it may not be affordable in terms of insurance, depending on where you live, your age and gender won't help either.

Also, if you have no experience driving a dirt bike or the like, not to mention a car, you likely have no business safely driving a motorcycle. If you do this, you need to do research, take the msf course, and be ready to ride responsibly. Don't do this because it is cool, it could cost you your life. If you pursue the motorcycle route, think it through and ride safe!

  3. More people I knew  have died  in cars than on motorcycles.  Once you buy a motorcycle you'll be through with cars, anyhow.

  4. i would suggest that you price motorcycle insurance for a 16 year old female!

you may not be able to afford it!

  5. take a MSF class...

yes bikes are dangerous, when they're in the hands of an idiot.

even in properly trained hands they can be dangerous.... but so can ANYTHING else...

give someone an oxygen tank they can blow up, give someone water they can drown, and those are two most vital things to our lives period.

and you're talking about a crotch rocket, and they have a few diffrent classes... street bike, sport bike, super sport bike etc.

  6. I've had a sportbike for 5 years now.  Before i got my motorcycle endorsement on my license i took a motorcycle safety course, the course was very affordable and all you will need is a helmet and gloves, they will have bikes there and they will probably be smaller easy to handle ones. If you take the course and you like it and are not nervous being on a bike then great, if you find you don't like it then all you are out is the cost for the course.

  7. It's not dangerious if you drive safe and watch out for other idiots on the road. Not smart to start out learning to drive on a bike. You don't even know the rules of the road and your having to learn that and to shift and drive a bike. Many new drivers get in accidents and better to have an accident in a car than on a bike. Drive for a few years and then look into getting a bike.

  8. Keep one thing in mind, there are ONLY two types of motorcycle riders... Those who have crashed and those that are going to eventually crash. Ive been riding for 30 years and no matter how careful you are or what you do the unexpected can and does happen. Not all crashes cause injury. They usually hurt your feelings more than your body but each one is a well remembered lesson. When I'm on the road I worry the most about being rear ended or run over by an inattentive driver. I LOVE to ride and will likely continue to until I'm too old to even wiggle but like everything else fun in life it involves risk. Yesterday I got stung on my forehead  by a bee I hit at 30 MPH. That was a first for me but it's like I said... Just when Your rolling along without a care in the world something that you liest expect can and will eventually happen, hopefully for all of us it won't be a big thing....

If You are not afraid to eat a few bugs and don't mind having the bejesus scared out of You now and then maybe you should go for a ride with a responsible rider and see how you like it???

  9. take the safety course and it is a good idea for college... at least here in dallas tx...

at the local university (smu) there are several stores and a mall nearby so i never have to drive more than 10 miles
