Im thinking about getting wood laminate from Empire Today....Good idea?

A man from Empire Today is coming to my house on Thursday to do a free estimate on laminate flooring. Is there anything I need to watch out for or certain questions that I need to ask? Does wood laminate scratch easily? I have two dogs and a 2 year old that spills stuff. Will the laminate get water stains easily? Help! I just don't want to get ripped off and I know nothing about this stuff.

Bad Idea.

The only thing Empire can offer you is Financing.

Besides that you will be paying double what other co's will charge.

Laminate is very durable & easy to clean.

You should be able to get the laminate & the install starting around $5.00 a sq. ft.

Thats not including any wall trim.

Don't agree to anything!  They use very high pressure sales tactics.  

You can estimate the sq. footage yourself by measuring the rooms and adding 10% for waste.  Then shop around.  Lumber Liquidators has excellent prices and some branches also offer installation.

Once you have decided on a flooring, go online and see what other consumers have to say about it.  There shouldn't be any problem with stains, it is easy to maintain, but may scratch.

Just don't jump into anything until you feel sure you know what you want to buy.  Have fun!
