  1. if you have the opportunity  you should go...

    good luck.

  2. This is also called a "gap year" and if you can do it, you should! Gap years can encompass travel, study, volunteer work, eco/adventure, or a mixture of all four.

Don't worry about a gap year diminishing your chances of getting into college. To the contrary, many colleges are looking for students who have some experience beyond the normal routine. You will have adventures, experiences and life learning lessons that you can't get in a classroom. In most cases, gap year experiences enhance your college applications and your resume when it's time for you to look for a job.

You can look here for multiple opportunities in Spain and Germany and combine them, if you want, to get a really good range of experiences during your gap year:

    Spain: http://www.volunteerabroad.com/listings....

    Germany:

For each country, make sure you explore all the options available by clicking the tabs marked "Study Abroad," "Eco-Adventure," and "Volunteer Abroad."

If you'd rather perform your own search, go here: www.GoAbroad.com

Good luck! I really advise you to do a gap year if you can; it will be a wonderful experience that will enhance your future and build your character in ways you can't even imagine!

  3. Yeah that's what it is. You would go right after high school is over before college. Why not do it while your still in high school? But anyways, here are some websites:

Rotary is a good program. If you want to find a website for it you need to search something like this: "Los Angeles California Rotary" but replacing it with where you live. Then email someone on there and tell them your interested in the Youth Exchange.

    Here are some other websites:

    http://www.yfu-usa.org/

And here is a forum with exchange students, it's really helpful.
