Im thinking of gettin a pair of 12" kicker l7's and a zx1500.1 amp.. will this need a capacitor? and what size

  1. just buy a cap and youll be fine. if you want to be professional about it and spend more money, buy a new alternator. i had 6 15L7  in my tahoe and never changed the alt. just my personal opinion


  2. That amp is fine and will push those subs sufficiently.  Wire them in a 2 ohm load (if you buy Kickers it shows you how in the manual).  Buy a Kinetic cap.  It is equal to about 4 car batteries. You will probably have to upgrade your alternator.  If you have the money for kicker subs and an amp, you can afford an alternator upgrade.

  4. If u wanna run 2 L7's right, then ur gonna have to get that amp or one just like it with those ratings. Underpowering subs is prolly the worst thing u can do because then u might as well get subs with lower ratings.  U dont want to put that kind of strain on ur amp.  I dont know much about alternators, but regardless, ur definitely gonna want a 2farad cap, maybe more
