Lao is a nice city. A mixture of city and countryside make this country a nice place to visit.

Its like N.E. Thailand with french bread and unpaved roads.

Go to Nakhorn Phanom and stay at the riverside hotel for 900 baht a night.  If you really need to go to Laos there's a ferry across to Takhet

Great place, with great people. You will have a fantastic time there i'm sure. If you wanna do any tourism. Try going to Vientiane or Luang Prabang. Both Wonderful places. You won't regret making the choice of going there.
