  1. The cost of living is still OK here in Las Cruces; not as big as Albuquerque, we do offer many city amenities such as museums and art galleries plus we're only 55 miles from El Paso, Texas. Our winters are very mild but the summers are sweltering hot. I know everyone says "But it's a dry heat" so be prepared to hear that a lot if you move here.

I know many people move 60 miles west of Cruces to Deming. Small town living and prices. Just kind of boring, I lived there a year and they don't even have a movie theater! Though I hear one is being built.

  2. I live in albuquerque, it's ok here i guess. The cost of living here is pretty reasonable. (kinda cheap lol) There is not a whole lot do here. I'm 23 and looking to move this summer. I guess if you are going to move here for the advantage of the cheaper cost of living then that's great, but as far as going places, there is not that much to do. I mean there are like 2 malls here. Downtown is so small. etc.. However, the weather here is pretty good and the food here is great!

  3. The cost of living is lower than  California in most New Mexico cities, however the wages are much lower also.

Be sure to check out both the cost of living and how much money you can make, (if you rely on earnings for your support), before making a move.

P.S. New Mexico is in the United States, not Mexico.

  4. Try Mexico - even cheaper

  5. I asked the same type of question last night and got no answers so far :(

Ok, I did research on this site and my own research because I might move there too and it seems everyone says Taos and Santa Fe are good cities to live in and aren't so small. Las Cruces was mentioned a lot also. All of the above have good schools. One guy said that southwestern NM is desolate and nothing but ranches and ghost towns, so cross that part of the list. The northern part of the state has Santa Fe and Taos and it seems like the place to get jobs. Plus, if you live in the north then you aren't too far from Colorado and that is a nice state to see. I resarched apartments online and it seems every part of NM is cheaper than here. And I live right outside of NY so I know the expensive living that is similar to CA, plus, I have been to CA many times. So, I searched in Albuqurque and Santa Fe and a one bedroom is only $500-800. And $800 are the really, really, nice ones. I say a great price would be like $650. And even the cheaper places include all the ammenties like a pool, spacious closets, dishwasher, washer and dryer in apartment, gym, clubhouse. Good luck with your research!
