  1. Vancouver is a marvellous multicultural city. Since Hong-Kong Chinese immigrated, houses have  become expensive.

In any case, I would recommend to get in touch with the

Canadian Embassy in London for further details.

  2. whats ur point why are u telling me this just move.

oh oops well i gess theres way less crime in vancouver

  3. Vancouver is a million times better than living in England. Even if it is more expensive than the rest of Canada, it's cheaper than England and the area itself is beautiful! (and at least it doesn't rain!!!) by the way I'm not Canadian, i'm English so i'm not being biased:) I'm planning to move there soon too!

  4. I worked in a daycare last year, and for a four year old, the cost was something between $500-700/month....But it may take you months to even find a space available in a licensed daycare (there are some people who do daycare out of their homes, but they are most likely not licensed)...

I would suggest that one of the first things to do once you have decided on where you want to live, would be to get your son on a wait list for a daycare!

Vancouver/Victoria has some of the best (mildest) weather in Canada. One thing to consider when thinking about where to move, is whether you want to live with LOTS of snow for months on in...or whether you want to live somewhere with a more mild winter....

There are LOTS of jobs (especially for a nurse) in BC, but rent is VERY high unfortunately. And as someone else said, I would suggest that you look into whether your training will transfer over here. I'm sure it will as they are desperate for nurses, but better safe than sorry! The British High Commission would most likely be able to help you with that info!

Hope that helps a bit, good luck with your move!

  5. Be fore moving make sure your degree is reconised.  The best place to live in the suburbs  A two bed apt. in Burnaby about a thousand you may want to check out co-op housing its cheaper but you must do a little work.Transit passes are tax deductable  Medicare  for everyone  hospital free.  see tourismvancouver and hellobc  for free guides

  6. London England or Ontario? ha ha

I moved 3 years ago from Ottawa and I am still wildly in love with this city :) Housing is VERY expensive, and so is cereal (compared to Ontario) STRANGE, i know.

You can check http://vancouver.craigslist.org for apartment listings if you need. It is very hard to find rentals right now and can take a while.

  7. lol, well actually the cost of living in vancouver is very high compared to the rest of canada, and it also has a relatively high crime rate due to drug problems. its a beautiful city, but it has some drug problems. LOL, of course compared to london england it's the garden of eden, but for raising a kid i can recommend some better places.

those are some crime stats for the country.

ontario has a lower cost of living, and if youre a nurse you wont have trouble finding a job. alberta has slightly higher cost of living, but youll get paid a lot more at your job, and still probably wont have trouble finding employment. id say go with calgary over edmonton, and if you choose ontario, toronto is the main hub, but i dont personally like it. i prefer the smaller cities.

    burlington, oakville, guelph, kitchener

vancouver is still a great place to live, and i think north vancouver doesnt have the issues that van city has.

canada is a pretty sweet place to raise a kid though.

i cant give you rental prices in vancouver, but in guelph ontario (1 hour from toronto) its about 1200 dollars for a 3 bedroom house. not many two bedrooms. a two bedroom apartment might be 900. i dont think child care is more expensive.

  8. A 2 bedroom house in Vancouver will rent for $1500 and up.

A 2 bedroom apartment in the downtown core goes for $1200 and up to over $3000 for a penthouse suite.

Childcare is VERY expensive and there are no vacancies in the few licenced facilities we do have.

  9. why??
