Im talking regular home game tourneys and charity poker events---in other words, live games. Doesnt matter where i go....i got KK, short stacked so i go all-in, He had AA. Needless to say I lose. That was thursday night for my tournament life.

Today, i have Q (paired)to his J (paired). He two pairs his Jack with a 3 on the river--Tournament life over.

Then later on tonight, i got AK of diamonds, go all-in (short stacked at final table out of 22 players) He flips over AA and takes it. Im done!

Why spend this freakin money to feel this BS? I've lost $200 in 3 days.

Have you quit playing bc of bad beats?

  1. i get bad beats all the time you just have to let them go man ive won and lost more then i can count dont quit just push on and your luck will change man

  2. your cool right now, just backoff for a bit.you cant win all the time.

  3. Probably a good idea.

  4. Just walk away.

  5. Losing and winning are both part of the game.  And unfortunately bad beats and suck outs and cold decks are too.  There is nothing you can do about it.  You can only take the best decisions, and hope it hold up.  Poker can be really unfair, but poker is a game where you see your profits in the long run.  Without asking for more details about the hands you've played, you seems to put your money when you have the best of it or when you're facing a cooler (KK's vs AA's..etc).  Poker is about taking good decisions and you did.  In the long run, you will get reward.  Poker is tough.  Don't think of quitting the game yet, not after having only a few bad sessions.  It's frustrating, trust me I know and understand where you stand right now.  Take some time off, make sure you're playing buy-ins and limits based on your bankroll.  Analyze your game and be honest with yourself, if you realize you made the right move, good, be happy about that and move on.  If you realize you made a bad decisions, analyze it learn from it and move on.  Great players can have some bad runs, and I'm talking about great players not be able to have some profit for several days, weeks, months! in the row.  Not able to make the money in the last 20 tournaments they enter.  I know it's easy to say, but don't worry about it.  Keep playing, play your A game and be focus.  And have some fun also.  After all, Chip Reese said it the best:" It doesn't matter which Limit you're playing, and how much money is involved, it's just a game"  Nothing is more true, it's just a game.  We are just trying to play it "seriously" and taking the best from it.  That's it.

      Good luck at the tables.

  6. You need to tighten up your game.  The only time to go all in is when you have the nuts (winning hand) or to scare other players out of the hand and that can be tricky if someone has AA KK or QQ they will most likely call.  You also need to study the board and what they could possibly be going for when they call you when you bet or raise.  Just common sense stuff will keep you from losing all your chips.
