i will be 18 next year.

i see the gas prices going up, the car prices going up...everyone is miserable and no one is doing anything about it. My teacher said i would need 20,000 signatures for my petition and then i send it to the mayor or governor or someone who is in charge of New york. She said i'd also have to start a site.

What if i get all the signatures on the site how do i send them to the governor?

Any advice?

  1. Probably won't have much luck, I think everyone knows that gas prices are high.  Unfortunately short of coming up with a new fuel or something I strongly believe you won't have much luck since there isn't much that could be done to lower the price of gas(short of removing the gas tax.  Though they don't want you to know it, the government is making more money off of gas then the gas companies are making).

Feel free to try though, you may have some luck if you have a proposed solution within this petition.  If the petition is simply that you would like to lower the price of gas you would probably get lots of signatures but not really do much unless you have a better solution.

Also check out this site if you'd like to start a petition(other similiar sites exist):  http://www.thepetitionsite.com/

  2. Advice, no. Question, yes. What is the petition for ???

    :-o

  3. If your governor cared, he'd be doing something right now- just like the rest of them.

You could start a site, then have a guest-book signature. Try and get it sponsored by some local advocacy group!

  4. what exactly is your solution? lots of signatures won't make the price of gas go down.
