Im thinking of trading my wii for an xbox 360, do you think its a good idea?

i used to love nintendo alot so i got a wii

but meh i have kinda grown out of it now and i prefer games like grand theft auto IV and condemed etc etc.

So im thinking of trading my wii in for an xbox 360 arcade, which is the cheapest version of an xbox 360. Anyone think this is a good idea and why?

Hello. I myself got an XBOX 360 Arcade about two months ago after giving up waiting for a $699 PlayStation3 price drop and it has been absolutely fantastic. Got Grand Theft Auto 4 and it is the best game I have ever played. Has heaps of customisation options (hard drives & memory units - bit overpriced but if you can find one on eBay!), lots of variety in gaming (not just 1000 varieties of Mario), online playing & the internet (not happy that its not free, but hey, I can manage on the computer) and not a bad asking price (cheaper than a Wii or a PS3) so I reckon to go for it!

You know it really depends. There are many good games coming out for both wii and xbox360, but if you want more of the hardcore gaming experience, xbox360 is what you need.

I can't really say that one system is better than the other, but just from what you have said you have convinced ME that the xbox360 is what you would want.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't sell your wii, rather save money and buy a 360. When you sell games or consoles back to the store, they really rip you off. Plus, you may regret selling your wii in the future.

ya, but i think you need a hard drive for the full XBOX experience.  Next month, the 60 GB models will hit shelves, and there is a rumor that the price will be only $300.  So I would wait and see, because $300 is not much more than the arcade version now.

Agreed that the wii gets boring.  I have a wii that i play once a week, and an XBOX that i play daily.
