Im tring to find out a tpe of caterpiller or a worm of some sort??

it is worm about 4 inches long, green like little suctioncups with spike coming out of them they are yellow

  1. Do you have a picture you can easily post? That would help tremendously in I.D.'ing the creature. Another question would be, which State was it found in?

    Just from the description, it may be a Cecropia moth caterpillar, Hyalophora cecropia. One of the largest silkmoths in the U.S. The caterpillars shed their skins 4 times and can grow to 5" long. A very cool moth, that as an adult does not have mouthparts. They (adults) only live 7-10 days.  The larvae feed on maple, wild cherry and birch leaves, along with many other types of tree leaves.
