Herby L:If you have 2 computers & have DSL, connect this way. Dsl line to Dsl Modem. Dsl modem to a Router( Hard wired  or wireless). If wireless router, then you need a wireless card in each computer. I do not understand why you would want to go to an older dialup style if you have DSL. The two computers have to be networked via the router.  I have tried to answer your question.  exbelltel
