Im trying to call someone in Mexico City from the United States

The number I am given is (55) ****-****. What would I dial? Im calling from a business phone so we have to use 9 first. i tried 9 (011) 55-****-**** and it wouldn't work

You have to put in the international dialing code first...

dial 9 first then,     011 + 52 + 55 + local number

if you are dialing from the USA you need to dial

011 52 55 and the 8 digit number (if you were given a seven digit number then dial 011 52 555 7 digit number.

There is an exception if the number you are calling is a Cell phone.  

Then you need to add 1 in front of the 55 so it would look like

011 52 1 55 XXXX XXXX  or 011 52 1 555 x*x xxxx
