I have a COMPAQ Presario V5201 lap top and i just formatted it because it was very slow and probably had a lot of viruses and spy ware. After reinstalling Windows XP professional and all the drivers it works great except when i try to connect to the wireless internet. Before i formatted the computer it was always connected with no , now when i turn on the wireless card and try to connect to the router its begins the connecting and it stops when it gets to acquiring network address. I checked to see if i have the right drivers and i did i just dont know what to do now. It connect just fine with the cable but not wireless. If any one can help me solve this please give me an answer ASAP thanks

  1. It means the router's WEP key and your computer's WEP key don't match, which they won't after a rebuild.

Reset the router, give it a new WEP key and then when oyu try to connect, the comp will ask you for the same WEP key.

Keep the key simple - use ffdd2233af
