  1. start to write a journal.  Write as if your writing a book about someone else's life, but really write about your own....see if you can find something that would make that someone unhappy...

  2. You say you're from a wealthy family, so maybe you're depressed about all the taxes that the Democrats and Republicans are taking from your family unfairly...?

If that is the case, the only way to cure your depression is to vote Libertarian!

  3. Your social worker is not the most qualified person to help you with or out of your depression. A caring psychologist or psychotherapist is. Do not feel guilty about being depress or waist time trying to figure why. Get help!

I don't know where you are but in Toronto personally know of a great psychotherapist His name is Bill Novack (look him up if you are on T.O.)

Also PLEASE talk to your doctor there are now drugs for depression that are not only very effective, but have minimal, if any, side effects and you don't have to take them for ever, they are best in combination with psychotherapy. Think of depression as a condition that can be treated successfully and the quality of your life can improve dramatically for the better. Untreated depression, can be dangerous because:

    1. Your brain isn't transferring (through neurotransmitters) enough "happy hormones" such as dopamine. Prolonged deprivation of this hormones can severely impair your ability to think reasonably or clearly it can also lead to poor judgment, poorer concentration and self destructive behavior.

    2. It could negatively affect your social life causing you to feel more isolated and less and less connected with the world around you.

    3. Depression also has negative effects on appetite and sleeping patterns both which in term affect your immune system and ability to fight disease.

Please take care and get the help you need. It is not your fault that you are depressed. With the right help, you can be happy again...I promise!

    Love,

    Monik.

  4. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I am being realistic.  Ok?

You are depressed because you are claiming the stupid title.  Sure and simple.  Everyday, we choose to be happy or we choose not to be happy.  Clearly, you are blessed in ways others aren't, but it doesn't stop you from being a victim and claiming "depression".

Do you think the Jews in concentration camps were "depressed"?

Do you think the people living under harsh rule in Sudan are "depressed"?

Bottom-line, you are self-absorbed and totally all about you.

Claim it and it is yours - depression or a happy life.  You choose depression.

  5. Depression can be a imbalance of chemical in the brain. You should talk to a MD and see if they can help you. Life is short, break rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. I try to live by this, although difficult at times. But life is to short to not be happy. Good luck to you!!!

  6. well , just try figuring wat is it that makes u depressed when u think of it , like wat is it that makes u depressed wen u think of it

  7. You are not depressed honey...you are bored!  I have been there and done that.  I want for nothing and have been previously in a craptacular relationship that I would never go back to.  Go do something exciting...something you thought you'd never do (within the boundaries of safety).  You will be surprised at what this will do for you.  =)

  8. that could well play a part of it. You could also be genetically pre-disposed to it, and there may be a problem with your neurochemicals.

There is rarely ever one cause.
