My hall had been booked for 4 months already and while making final arrangments with the renter, he tells me the outdoor dancefloor and music is no longer allowed. he changed the rules because previous parties have been too noisey. so he decided to mail my check back and leave me screwed out of a hall. now im searching for a new last minute location and due to this inconvinience everything in my price range is booked and im looking at an extra $2000. changing the date is out of the question, family is coming from out of the country and already booked flights. as well as my honeymoon the next morning. Any body have any ideas? has anyone ever gotten sponsered? can you lead me in the direction of some money! Please help!

  2. You don't have it in writing?  Time to look for a park or a garden or something.  Unless you're a celebrity you won't get a sponsored wedding.

  3. Oh please, unless you are Angelina Jolie or Star Jones, you ain't getting anything for free for a wedding.

Go to a community hall, elk's lodge, VFW, YMCA, local park, gold course, etc.

    Good luck

  4. You've already checked gardens and parks? I know it doesn't sound too fancy, but it can be beautiful...

You could get one of these tents for the reception...

  5. Look for an unusual venue - park, botanical garden, museum.  Talk to your other vendors, they will have an inside edge.

  6. Thank you everyone but Ive tried all the parks and unque locations already and thier all booked! thats where i was having it at firt a historical house. MY LAST RESORT IS AN AMERICAN LEGION HALL. I HATE THE IDEA OF IT CUZ ITS NOT CLASSY BUT AT LAST MINUTE I DONT REALLY HAVE A CHOICE. iM SO FRUSTRATED!!!!

p.s. Im in chicago if anyone knows of a place in or surrounding suburbs

  7. Well....you could get married in a walmart and have it all paid for (tacky tacky tacky of course)

Or I suggest local parks, gardens, arboretums. I don't know what state you are in, but if its one with moutains there could be some very pretty places there.

We reserved my wedding reception hall 5 weeks before the wedding. Its a restaurant that I previously didn't even know did weddings, so think of as many restaurants as you can, even ones you don't think do weddings, and then call them and see if they do weddings. The only problem you run into there is if you already had a caterer.

See if you can rent a large white tent and then go to a park or something, I'm SURE there are pretty places.

  8. Honestly, I think you may need to try and find another cheaper location or just charge the $2,000.

Lots of people need money for their wedding and the only person I have ever heard of getting "corporate sponsorship" is that strange woman who had people bid on ebay to be her bridesmaid. Dr. Pepper took pity on her and gave her some money.

  9. get a job or two. Or ask your family.

That's why it's important to have everything in a written agreement.

  10. Hi there, if there is anything I can do you may view my information to give me more specs, however I am unsure if we are in the same state. This is wedding season so alot of your venues may have open dates that co-inside with your date, that were booked at one time but are now open. Hope I can be of assistance.
