Im trying to install a new thermostat?

my old thermostat had 5 wires blue red yellow white and green

the new thermostate a honeywell rth230b has RH RC with a jumper 3 other terminals a Y,G,c, i believe what wires go into what ports? do i need the jumper

Yes, you need the jumper,Leave the jumper between the RH and the RC.  The RH and RC jumper can be removed if you have two different systems. One for heat and one for cooling.  But if you only have one system doing heat and cooling, leave the jumper in place.
