Im trying to install an air conditoner in a aluminum framed window on the 3rd floor how would i go about it?

  1. Have seen it done.

    A "regular"  window unit guessing around 5000BTU in a jalousie window about 30" wide.

    Jalousie "slats" were removed to a point above the AC unit.

    The ones above were closed & did not operate.

    A frame was built w/ panels  to fill in sides & top to keep the unit from falling out.

    The frame was made of pop riveted aluminum angle & screwed to the frame.

    No idea what the panels were made of but were covered in formica or if the jalousie "machinery" was  underneath.

    Also, no idea  if there was additional support outside the window.
