  2. Three years ago I started the quest for weight loss... it is not easy!  At the time I weighed 190 lbs ten months later I weighed 120 at 5'6.  I basically ate the right amount of calories each day and started exercising.  I have kept the weight off for two years.  I also started working out hardcore and have totally turned around my body shape.  I continue to eat properly through good nutrition and cardio and strength training (6 days a week - 2 hours a day).

The biggest thing with weight loss is to speed up your metabolism... you HAVE to eat!  You have to eat breakfast.  You also have to continue eating throughout the day.  You need to take in the right amount of calories to keep your basal metabolism going.  Your basal metabolism generally is your weight x 10.  For example, a person that weighs 170 lbs usually has a basal metabolism for about 1700 calories.  Your lifestyle also plays a big part in the amount of calories you need.  If you are moderately active (working out five times a week) you need to eat another 50% of calories.  So to that 1700 you need to eat another 850 to give you a total of 2550 calories.  Now that is how many calories you need to eat to maintain your weight at 170 lbs.

If you want to lose weight subtract 500-700 calories from the total.  Eat every three to four hours but only take in between 200 - 400 calories each time.  The biggest thing with weight loss is to eat the right amount of calories to keep your body going to but also to burn what you are taking in.  An excellent online free program to help you keep track of your calories is www.fitday.com .  Remember to keep portion sizes in mind... read the labels on the box!

Volleyball will help you lose weight - any cardio workout will aid in the weight loss process.  I would also suggest to start a strength training program... more muscle = more fat burn.  One pound of muscle needs twice the amount of calories to maintain than fat.

Good Luck... but remember to eat even if its just an apple and peanut butter

  3. Even though you are not hungry you should probably eat because your metabolism is slowing down because you have your body trained to not eat until dinner.  The most effective way to get your metabolism going is eating 5 small meals (200-300) calories each in order to get your metabolism constantly going.

  4. The above thing will end up with some gastric problems, acidity and so on. It is better to take less portion of meal at each time. Even thought you feel not hungry but your stomach will look for some diet at regular intervals. If you don't take your meal in the correct portion then it will try to take from your intestine. So don't avoid your meals by thinking that your not feeling hungry. Even i too trying to reduce my weight. But i am following my diet at regular intervals. For loosing weight you need to avoid carbohydrate intakes and you need to take more fiber related meals like Whole Grain Bread, Oats, Cereals and also highly citrus oriented things. You can reduce wieght through your volley ball practice itself. All the best:)

  5. DO NOT skip breakfast. it is the most important meal of the day. you will lose weight from the volleyball, but you have to eat right.

  6. Forget crazy diets for losing weight.. Acai Berry is this new product I've been trying after seeing it on Oprah. I'm already seeing results!! You should give it a shot, here's a special link for a free 14-day trial.
