  1. Well, you secretly know what you need to do. Never watch the T.V. before you school work is done! I swear, you'll say "just one show" and it will turn into a marathon!

Try to get your school stuff done immediately after school....if you put it off until 7-8 will you have enough time to finish and not have it cut into your sleep schedule?

Behavior: Don't dread school work and procrastinate. If you look forward to putting effort in (Imagine yourself like the smartest student in your class).

Each night, there is stuff that you NEED to do. Each night's worth of work is different than any other night. If you put it off, You'll have double the work later, and 1/2 the time you would otherwise have.

Music will always be there, it's not "going away" unless music helps you study. TV is ALWAYS the same. TIme after time its the same stupid stuff and why waste your time on that? Why be lazy like that?

Books to read: hmm there are a LOT.....The main thing is though that your independent reading should not cut into your required reading/textbooks/ study time. However, having a few good books in your memory can help you rock some essays. Makes sure you have read at least some classics on your own time---go to sparknotes and look upsome classic books and research them--

Showing up to school is almost 1/2 the effort necessary to suceed. So do NOT be absent a lot. You will get so far behind!

There are three "tiers" to being a student

Tier one: Show up to class--this is the most basic responsibility you as a student has

two: Do your assignments when assigned, put in effort, and turn them in on time---what teachers expect of you to do. If you arn't doing this then you can expect your grade to reflect that

three: study---You know when a student considers himself a true hard-working student when he regularly studies. Not just when the teacher says there is a test the next day (which if you study the night before it is only considered level two). Even if the test is weeks away, reviewing a little each night helps tremendously. College level students must always be in level three or beyond. They say that for every 1 hour of class, a student should spend three hours studying

obviously, middle school and high school are not that intense, but it is a fairly good principle.

  2. ok well if you want to be smart and get good grades, follow these tips because i am smart... ok on weekends, people go out with ur friends and like hang out and stuff. dont do that. u have to stay home and study. even if you are done studying u can do the next work ahead. u are on top of the game. and um dont talk for hours on the phone with ur friend or keep on texting. it's bad and it can distract you from your work. make good notes and pay attention in class. if u dont understand something, get a tutor or ask someone who can explain it well and knows the answer. you want to make ur parents proud so study hard. dont talk to much with ur friends at break or at lunch. instead, you can study for the upcoming test. it's good to talk with your friends but the mail goal of attending school is to learn. reading increases ur vocabulary and it's good because if u use big words, it means that you have a wide range of vocabulary and u can impress people with that. if u need more help like you can go to wikihow.com and ask any question. they should have it.... be serious about ur work. if u want straight a's u have to think in ur mind that a b+ or below is bad. it might not be bad to some people but it matters in college. u should read the dictionary, i reccomend because u learn new words, hmm read the chosen one, reading lolita in tehran, night, jennie( my fav.), and romeo and juliet. also, i would highly reccomend twilight!!! :)) um dont' watch too much tv cuz u can get addicted to it. like me, i don't watch tv, i mostly study. u can listen to music but like not while homework or studying cuz its hard to concentrate.... :P and just try ur hardest and have a positive attitude. good luck and i hope i helped (i wrote a lot!!)

  3. Music and TV changes are a great way to start! Turn off the TV for good, first of all. Then make sure that the music you listen to is uplifting and makes you happy and helpful. But don't make music a drug by listening to it all the time. When you're at home, BE at home. Be there for your family; try to talk to them and be willing to help around the house. Don't use all your spare time on the internet, but talk to your parents instead. This should go a long way to giving you more quality time both with the people who love you and with your homework.

  4. all right, here goes...

always hand in your homework, even if all you can get is partial credit.

always study, study, study! study the night before a quiz/test, and review the morning of. don't cram! you'll only forget what little you did already know, because you'll be trying to remember to much! lol!

always take advantage of extra credit oppurtunities! they can help boost your grade, and all though they can sometimes take time to complete, they can mean the difference between a C+ or a B-!

if you feel like you're falling behind, ask to stay after and go over thee material with the teacher. or hire a tutor to help you, ask a friend to study with you, or ask a parent to quiz you or check your work.

if you get overwhelmed by all the projects, extra curricular activities, and life in general - talk to your teachers. if you politely explain to them everyhting you have on your plate, they may be willing to give you an extra day to complete your project.

take good notes!!! use composition notebooks, so the pages won't rip or fall out as easily. write neatly, and underline, highlight, or star things that the teacher says is really important or going to be on a test or quiz.

keep your locker organized! that way you'll be able to find the books you need to take home to study from! put up a erase board, and write down your homework for the day, so at the end of the day, you can grab everything you need to take home.

use a calendar and/or planner. to keep track of when projects are due, and when you have tests and quizzes.

when you have projects, always work a little on them each day, especially when you don't get them to work on them in class. also, always turn them in!!! it can cost your grade majorly if you don't, as projects often count for a huge portion of your gade.

if your school has a system where you can access your grades online, or if your teachers post them in thier classroom, take advantage of that! check your grades THROUGHT the quarter, so you won't be caught off gaurd at the last minute.

if you fail a test or quiz, see if you can re-take it, or at least earn points back on your score.

keep old tests and quizzes to study off of, this is especially handy around exam time.

good luck, and hope i helped you!
