  1. well no matter how old you are you need some experiance in running a cafe or simular biz. You can have all the money and right ideas in the world but nothing will get you through those extreamly tricky situtations better than having done it before. If you do have enough experiance then i say go for it. Definitly. If not, get out there and get some then go for it.

  2. Start recordig and watch Gordo Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares.....  or the old ones on BBC watch and learn because it is a good biz but you have to know how to handle food and the food industry and how to hire the right people or you will get run into the ground.  You need right menu, good food, right prices and be willing to be there almost 24/7.

I would start be workingin a cafe to see how it is first hand.

  3. Hard work pays off.

  4. If at 18, you have a good credit history, rental history and at least 30K, you are ready to start.

Since most businesses lose money the first year, you need at least enough money to last a year already in your bank.

You have a lease to pay, furniture to pay, utilities to pay, advertising to pay, employees to pay, insurance to pay, and that is before you even begin to buy an institutional stove, food and begin to cook.

You need to pay for the printing of your menu, pay for laundry, cleaning supplies, pots and pans, dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, coffee urns, the list is endless.

That is why the business loses money for all of the first year.  The second year, it is possible to make a little money because you already have your pots and pans, etc.

A walk-in refrigeration unit alone can cost 15K for a small used one.

So here is my tip...  go work in someone else's cafe and see if you even like it, see what you can learn about operating a cafe, save your money and work towards doing it in the future.  You can't even get a small business loan at 18 with no credit history.

  5. well... just make a lot of food like make fruit in you cafe then more people come

  6. No if you can, then go for it.

Id aim it at a gap in the market, around where i am their isnt many places young people can go in the day, and this cafe opened, totally focused on young people, its always packed, they do things like milkshakes and panninnis keep it simple... its funky they play good music, the bar is like surf boards, theirs loads of cool paintings on the wall, they have awesome sofas and wireless internet, do somthing that excites you because a boring cafe and youll lose interest.

My number 1 tip... make sure you spend money and time on advertising and getting a customer base!
