Im trying to register a car but cant find orignial owner to sign release.?

I bought this car from a friend and the guy he got it from didnt sign the release and my friend sold it to me .. im worried and dont no what to do ? i barley turn 18 and this is my first car

Well if you cannot find the owner, if the title is signed off by him and there is a title error or if he never signed off on it, you can file a loss vehicle title with your local police department, just explain everything to them, then they will issue you a paper to take to court, and the court will issue you with another paper to take to the Bmv and the title bureau. That works good

Go back to your 'friend' and request he put the car in his name so he can legally sell it, or return your money to you.  It wasn't your 'friends' to sell.  Why should YOU have to pay the taxes that are his responsibility?

And in the future, never buy a car unless there is a clear title in the name of the person who is selling it.
