  1. what they are saying is --you cant take a road test in a car thats not insured. if you cant borrow a car from someone who has proof of insurance--- hire a drivers education company . you could get help with over the road + you can use their vehicle to take your road test

  2. Get a learners permit and go to a driving school - you don't need insurance to do this.  Once you pass the drivers ed course you'll be able to get your license.

  3. I see your point it looks like your out of luck. You live in a crazy state, I never heard of getting insurance before getting a drivers lic. Here in New York you can get a lic before even buying a car, let alone insurance.

  4. OK. I did some research online for you and this is what I found out in answer to your question.

"If you do not currently own a motor vehicle

and you (will) not (regularly)drive a private passenger vehicle owned by another person, (parent, spouse, employer)

you are EXEMPT from needing proof of insurance.

However, you must certify that you are exempt on

Form DL-123A (They have them at the licensing offices. Ask someone there for the form by that number when you go to get your permit

and your license will be restricted to driving only fleet vehicles."

I think that means like rental cars from Enterprise, Avis, Budget etc.

Then, when you go to buy a car sometime, you will need to get insurance. So, you could go into a State Farm or All State or some other office. There are tons listed in the yellow pages.

Anyway, you can get a permit but I think you need to be sponsored by a driver who has had a license for at least five years or again look in the yellow pages under driving schools.

    Hope this helps

  5. See if you can get put on someone else's insurance while you are learning to drive. Most people get on their parents' insurance when they get their permit. That's what I did. I didn't get my license until I was 22, so while I had my permit, I was on their insurance. Once I got my license and a car, I got my own insurance.

  6. you dont have a car, you dont need insurance.  Get your permit first. Practice driving someones car (parents).  Then get your license.  They cannot make you get insurance if you dont have a car.

  7. One of my friends asked me this kind of questions before,I found helpful here.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...
