what should i do? i want to become a professional musician. I have the college i want to go in all set. I know how to plya guitar (not perfectly because i have been playing for 1 year) but i want to learn how to play the violin as well... Should i stick with guitar or should i go to violin with guitar? I already got electric guitar, floor pod plus, and an amp. Should i buy a violin with everything and try that out? (Im not made of money btw). I really need an answer by this friday august 29, 2008 please WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  1. you really want to be musically inclined? go for drums... once you learn how to keep a beat and become totally electric with it, you can play anything because you can keep a beat.

if you only have a limited amount of cash to spend, go to a local music shop and see if you can pick up a cheap used 5 piece and get new sticks... don't ever.. and i mean ever... buy used sticks... and if you have the extra cash after buying the drum kit, pick up a metronome. you will not be disappointed.

a metronome is that thing shaped like a triangle with the stick that swings back and forth while ticking.. you can adjust the speed on it to give yourself a good beat.. start it, and then keep the beat with the kick drum, and then after you have that mastered, give yourself some fill with a snare, or even the hi-hat. before long, you'll have it mastered!! after a couple months with the drums, you'll never get the beat out of your head, and you'll really be able to get into playing either violin or whatever you choose. i strongly suggest that you try playing drums for a while to get the feel of the beat.

  2. Well, it really is up to you if you want to play the violin or guitar or both. I personally think that you should stay with one instrument because i play 3 instruments. I think that specializing in one instrument is better than being mediocre in 2 or more instruments. However, if you think that you can do well in either both, or one of the other, than i would strongly recommend what you think is best.
