  1. Same here.

Keeps telling me to insert athe USA way of today's date whenever I type a date the U.K way!

    Drives me mad.

What is the point of THIS key?

  2. It's your insert button.  I also dislike this feature and do not understand why it's useful.

Click your insert button once.and it should go away.

  3. Press the insert key.

  4. This kind of Overwriting will be observed in Word when you are writing any document when the insert key is accidentally pressed..

Just press the Insert Key once again and am sure the problem which is annoying all these days will be resolved..

    Dont worry...

  5. Press the Insert key again.

It might be to the left of the delete key above the backspace key.

  6. the insert key has been pressed - press it again. at the bottom of the word screen you will see OVR come on and off. that is "overwrite"

ps - on some keyboards you have to turn the number lock off to be able to press the insert on the zero.

  7. Yes it is the insert button. I confirm it.
