Question:

Im unatractive. and my 1st days at school suck. help.?

im a girl & i dont have a boy friend. boys dont talk to me. i only have a few friends. im overweight and i just gained 20 pounds from last year.

i got in alot of classes where i dont even know anybody. how do i meet new ppl (boys) that im shy to go around and make friends

I haven't spoken to my highschool friends in thirty years and am not sure I'd recognize them if I met them on the street.  Life happens, get ready for the test because it comes before the lesson.  Prepare for the big show by doing school work and forget the socializing.  It isn't worth the emotional energy you will be expending.  

    For your own sake get into gym class and participate and when you graduate make sure you get a gym membership.  Lose the weight for your own health.  When you feel good people will come to you.  Be ready to be a good friend.


  2. Join some groups or take up a sport. Concentrate on your school work and get good grades. Don't give up.....Good luck.

  3. UGH... I was the same way in high school.  The fact that I was shy actually made me feel sort of embarassed, which just made it worse.  Eventually I started pretending I wasn't shy, and pretending I had some self confidence, and after a while you sort of forget you're pretending.

    Also, for what it's worth, once high shcool is over no one will ever care if you were popular or not.  It's never come up once on a date or in a job interview.  I hated school with a passion... but life gets a lot better quick!

  4. In order for you to get over your shyness you have to step outside the box. I used to be VERY shy, and wouldn't be caught dead in front of an audience. I took a speech class, and loved it! At first i would go up there, ready to barf into my sweaty palms. Then as days would go by, i'd start to feel more comfortable in front of people. Eventually i got so good at my speech class, that i ran for school president and won! So don't put yourself down just yet! Like you said, its your first days of school and they suck, so let the rest of the days of school be awesome. Try to join a sport, or any club, even a study club will do you good. They key, is to not give up on yourself. You can loose the weight, loose the fear, loose the shyness, but dont loose you confidence and self-essteem. Those can only get higher. So go out there and do more for yourself, dont just sit at home feeling sorry.  Start a food diary, record everything you eat, start daily exercises even if its just for 10-20 minutes, buy lotions, make yourself feel better. Once you feel good about yourself, others will notice and begin to like the new you. Like they say, the best way to predict the future is to create it.
