Im under 18 years old and i live in australia. how do i get a passport? do i have to wait till im 18?

i'm turning 18 this year in october. but i want to travel to canada before then but was wondering how do i get a passport? on the form i have i need both parents signitures but i no longer see my dad. is there another way to obtain one? please help!

I think you need to have both parents. I know some friends who have had to contact long gone fathers to get a passport.

If you can prove to the passport agency that your mother is the sole legal guardian for you I believe you have a chance.  Otherwise the australian passport website below should help a little.
