  1. you can write it off your taxes, most employeers allow for personal use, as a contractor, I once received "truck and tool" to use my own car and own test equipment. Truck and tool was paid per hour in addition to my salary.

  2. Write it off on your taxes. Or just add it to your bid, on next job!

  3. Fully agree with all the other answers.

Ask them to pay you a fuel allowance, or give you a company fuel card, or write it off on your tax.

They arent required to pay for your fuel, but perhaps if you are a good worker, and you are only on minimum wage, you can ask your employers for a rise to cover fuel.

Either that, or add in a fuel levy to your quotes.

  4. well you can ask them to pay for your gas but they really dont have to. you can keep track of your mileage and write it off on your taxes.

  5. It's up to the company weather they pay for gas or not.  They are not required.  But if you are spending money to make money, that can be written off on your taxes and you'll get it back.  Just keep track of the mileage.

  6. i had the same problem til i got a company credit card....

  7. Charge them mileage, the ATO has info on how much per kilometer you can get back.  It's 69 cents per km for up to 2 litre and 70 cents over 2 litre. So it's not really worth it having a bigger car.

Or you can claim it through the tax system, sort of like a forced savings plan.
