im 19 and i live with my boyfriend, 21, whose a heavy meat eater, i want to buy my own set of pots and pans and everything because im bothered by all his steak and stuff being cooked in the same pots and pans i use. i dont think he really minds either way but do you think this is really petty or is it valid reasoning? i mean, i know it gets washed and everything, but i still find it so gross! also because when my bf does the dishes, he does them so dodgy lol! even worse when he thinks im not watching haha

  1. I'm bugged by it too but I'm only 14 so I can't just hop in my car and buy pots with my little allowance money since you can I say go for it I saw some pink pans I thought they where cute and that way you could always tell your pots apart =^..^=

  2. It seems obsessive to me.

  3. I think as long as it is washed THOURALY it should be fine.  but if it bugs you THAT MUCH, go do it.  dont let him tell you what to do and not to do.  hes not respecting your choice.

  4. Only if you and your boyfriend live in filth and don't wash dishes, pots and pans. If you can kiss your boyfreind after he has eaten meat and brushed his teeth, don't see why yo can't use the same pots and pans that have been similarly washed.

  5. I know how you feel,  I use Sudso to clean my dishes , he does a pretty good job for a Dalmation.

  6. Lol, you have every right! don't worry just buy new ones and wash them seperately also your boyfriend doesn't mind it, so just buy them. <3

  7. I think if you wash them they should be clean. If there is still remnants of meat left behind, they haven't been cleaned properly.

You'd have to use separate plates, bowls and utensils then too wouldn't you?

  8. Except for seasoned cast iron, there is no reason to worry about this.  Assuming your cookware is stainless steel, it's not porous so nothing your boyfriend cooks soaks in.  Once it's washed with soap, there is no trace of what he cooked.  Maybe you should educate him on doing a better job of washing dishes.

Now, if someone puts animal foods in my seasoned cast iron, the gloves are off...

  9. Get a dishwasher, that will be a better way to do it if your boyfriend is  dodgy washing up.
