alright so im in some stupid program called study hall aka homework club ive been in it the whole year and i am sick of program as well as the teacher. we need to get our organizers signed and grade checks, i had mine signed monday b4 it was due and my friend even saw me get all my signatures but then i left my organizer in art and i went back and it wasnt there i did everything i could my mom even said she would back me up. i got an hour detention and even though my mom said she would help me out she didnt, the teacher said it wasnt fair to the other kids which i understand but thats not the problem. the problem is my mom set up the detention next wednesday and i told her she could take me out of the program and i wouldnt have to do it because my mom said that she i was right about shouldnt have to have detention, before that day at school i told my mom i was probably gonna get detention for my math teacher circling to grades instead of the right one and my teacher doesnt like that, w

  1. i think its ok to be mad and if they are not treating you fairly then hay you did what you think is best for you right, thats what matters the most

  2. You need to talk to your mom about the situation and come to an agreement. You probably just caught her at a bad time, when she had other things on her mind... trust me, it happens more than you may realize. I've been guilty myself of tuning out my son, when he needed me. It's not always intentional.

So, give her the benefit of the doubt and have some well thought out reasons why she should support you in this. Start out by saying, "Mom, I need to talk to you about something that is really important to me. Please let me know when I can talk to you about it."

Then when the time comes, discuss the issue with her calmly, telling how YOU feel.

If you end up having to serve detention, look at it as a learning lesson, not the end of the world. I assume you can read a good book during this hour? At least then, it won't be a total waste of your time.

Don't worry, it gets easier.  :)

    Best Wishes to you!

  3. That is lame, and the program sounds stupid... But it might do some good... It might help you remember NOT to leave books and things behind in the future, or to be a better selfe advocate, and at the risk of sounding rude, you might want to spend your detention working on your Grammar and Writing skills. It's difficult to take some one seriously when they are advocating for themselves but can't string together a simple sentence.

  4. No, you have a right to be mad. You need to pull your mom to the side and tell her you need to talk to her one on one then when you have her full attention you need to put everything on the table.
