Im visiting Spain next spring break?

I live in the US.

How is the weather over there during spring?

What should I pack to wear?

Im in my third year of spanish at my school

and next year will be in my fourth,

how well do you think I will be able to communicate?

How well you can communicate will be up to you.  But don´t expect to come home fluent after only a week.  You need about four months to get really used to the language, and eight or more to keep that fluency for any appreciable time.

However, with what you have, the people there will be happy to help you along!  And you will love it, and you will want to go back for longer!

Weather varies greatly.  In March and April, you might want a sweater or light jacket, because in the mornings and evenings it can get quite cool.  (or you can just buy a sweatshirt or two while you´re there...with local images on them).  

In the South, you will want pretty light clothing, but, again, some evenings can get cool, in the mountains, etc.  and you will want to have a sweater.  We were there in May last year, and I left the room with a jacket on every morning, but by about 10:00 or so, I had shed it.

Well judging by the temperature outside my living room window at 12:36pm in Madrid , it's a little chilly (18C) with a few clouds.  It has been raining a lot, but we also had a hot snap a couple of weeks ago and it was around 27C.  You will need jeans, jackets etc for day and night.  Spanish tend to dress more modestly and don't wear a lot of skimpy clothing.  I was in the south on the coast at the beginning of may and I went to the beach and it was really hot.  So pack some warm clothes and some summer clothes.

You will probably find on arrival that your spanish is worse than you thought.  But don't worry, I arrived 9 months ago and I couldn't speak any spanish, I took evening classes twice a week for 4 months and now my spanish is still bad, but I can communicate.  have fun!
