Im watching this show about what killed the dinosaurs?

they think it was a hypercane (an extremely strong hurricane). but to get one you need to heat water up to 120 degrees fahrenheit... the only way they can think of to get this is if a meteor or something hit the ocean and heated a patch to that temperature, but they think there would be an impact crater... i was thinking about the marianas trench... any thoughts

  1. I'm surprised the show you watched didn't mention it.  The impact crater is the Chicxulub Crater just offshore from the Yucatan peninsula.  Check out the reference about Chicxulub and about another impact that is theorized to have led to another mass extinction 250 million years ago.


  2. I saw this program on the discovery channel, these hypercanes also vanished the ozone layers, the crater was supposed to have been in the Yucatan Peninsula in southern Mexico.
